Life and Legacy FAQ’s

What about the fact that my children expect me to leave them everything?
  • It’s likely you are already a dedicated supporter of Temple Sinai.  It would demonstrate to your family your commitment to us with legacy gift.  Consider a gift that is a percentage of your estate.
Do I have to be “old” to make a legacy gift?
  • Absolutely not!  Donors can be of any age.
Do I have to be “rich” to make a legacy gift?
  • Absolutely not!  It is not the number of zeros in a gift. It is an opportunity for you to do something significant in your lifetime.

Do I have to give cash as my legacy gift?

  • Absolutely not!  It is common to make commitments with gifts of life insurance, retirement funds and bequests.

What if I don’t have a will?

  • You may make a gift from retirement funds, life insurance policies or other planned giving vehicles.  Temple Sinai may easily be designated as a (partial) beneficiary.

I’m intrigued, what do I do next?

  • Contact a Life and Legacy committee member or complete the Letter of Intent form that is here on the website.  If appropriate, consult with your professional advisors about the options and vehicles most suited to your situation. We also have qualified individuals willing to share ideas and suggestions.

We value your participation in our Life and Legacy initiative.  Please help sustain Temple Sinai for future generations.
