Presenter: Rabbi Anat Moskowitz 

Description:  There are 4 kiddish cups on my shelf, 5 different candles that are completely different one from the other and a plethora of Jewish ritual items that find their place somewhere on the Jewish calendar! What for what, what for when, why and how? Join local Rabbi and Educator, Rabbi Anat Moskowitz for an interesting discussion about  the meanings behind our Jewish ritual items and how they can connect us to Jewish culture.

Presenter Bio: Rabbi Anat Moskowitz and her husband Jeffrey Bain moved to Sarasota, FL a little over a year ago,  where they are enjoying a decadent life of semi-retirement.  Rabbi is working as the school rabbi at Hirschorn Schiff Community Day School and also does several volunteer jobs including being a Guardian ad Litem for the state Foster Care system. She is also a member of the Survivors in Sync Dragon Boat racing team. Before coming to Florida, Rabbi Moskowitz served a congregation for 10 years in Denver, Colorado, and before that worked as a chaplain at the US AirForce Academy, a professor at Colorado College and chaplain, and served a Congregation for 5 years in Colorado Springs.  She has worked in the AIDS community, the LGBTQIA community and works with Jews who are dealing with the illness of Addictions and Recovery. For the past 25 years as a rabbi, her work has focused on those members of the Jewish community who found themselves on the periphery of traditional Jewish communities, those who may have been disenfranchised and/or lost to the community.  Rabbi Moskowitz was ordained in 1999 by the Conservative Jewish movement.

The ReJEWvenate series is designed to unlock Jewish hearts and fill them with fun as they explore different aspects of Jewish culture.  Learn from Rabbis and educators about a variety of fascinating topics during this exciting series on Tuesdays at 7:00 PM. Beginning Tuesday, February 9 and continuing through March 30, 2021.
