Temple Sinai is delighted to once again sponsor, in part, a concert presented by The Perlman Music Program Suncoast. PMP Alumni: Around Town - Music from the Heart will be held on Saturday, February 12 at 7:00pm at Temple Sinai, 4631 South Lockwood Ridge Road (enter only from Proctor Road), Sarasota. PROOF OF VACCINATION AND BOOSTER, PLUS MASK ARE REQUIRED FOR ALL ATTENDEES.

This magical program features five highly acclaimed graduates of The Perlman Music Program: Max Tan, Eric Silberger, Tal First, violins; Bethany Hargreaves, viola; Lev Mamuya, cello; along with internationally renowned pianist, Marisa Gupta. Repertoire will include works by French Romantic composer Ernest Chausson: Poème, Op. 25 and Concert in D, Op. 21 – both arranged for violin, piano and string quartet. These compositions were dedicated by Chausson to Belgian violinist Eugène Ysaÿe. According to violinist Max Tan, and leader of the ensemble, Concert is occasionally performed in the U.S. as a show of chamber ensemble virtuosity, but the Poème arrangement is rarely programmed.

A frequent visitor to Sarasota, Max Tan began training with The Perlman Music Program (PMP) at the young age of 14, studying with acclaimed violinist and conductor Itzhak Perlman. He attended the PMP Winter Residency for many years and returned often to perform in the community and in schools. Max is a member of the Sarasota Orchestra and is studying for his doctorate at the Juilliard School in NY. The Perlman Music Program Suncoast cultivates audiences of all ages through classical music performances and education outreach programs. Through its relationship with PMP, founded by Toby Perlman, Perlman Suncoast offers the public the unique opportunity to witness the talent and spirit of extraordinarily gifted and promising young string students and accomplished graduates.
