Temple Sinai Presents: Jews of Color; A Lesson in Inclusion

Join us for an inspiring weekend with Ilana Kaufman, the Chief Executive Officer of the Jews of Color Initiative, as she leads us in a powerful exploration of Jewish diversity, community connectedness, and the critical importance of racial equity and justice within the Jewish community.

Saturday, December 14 Kick off the weekend with a meaningful Havdalah service at 7:00 PM in the Sanctuary of Temple Sinai. Ilana will share her insights in a talk titled Leadership, Partnership, and the Power of a Diverse Jewish Future starting at 7:20 PM. The talk will last approximately 30 minutes, followed by a 10-minute Q&A session. Conclude the evening with a delightful dessert reception.

Sunday, December 15 Start your day with a complimentary Bagel Nosh at 9:30 AM in the Atrium. Dive deeper into the history and experiences of Jews of Color in a more formal community presentation beginning at 10:00 AM in the Sanctuary. The session, titled US Jews of Color, Jewish Demography, Responsibilities, Opportunities and Why it Matters, will cover the vital research and insights from two major studies conducted by the Jews of Color Initiative. The program includes introductions from our Chazzan and Temple Sinai leaders, a 45-minute main presentation, and an interactive Q&A session. 

Registration Information Tickets are $36 for Temple members and $40 for non-members, covering both events. Students are welcome to attend for free. Sponsorship opportunities are available for $180 per person, which includes 1 ticket to speaker events and a special dinner with Ilana on Saturday evening prior to the program.
