Temple Sinai strives to provide quality Jewishly rich, social opportunities for our young congregants.
As a URJ congregation, we are affiliated with NFTY, the National Federation of Temple Youth.
Andrea Eiffert is our Youth Director. Please refer to our staff page for information about Andrea.
Sixth through 8th graders get together for social, cultural and community service events. Participants may attend Hatikvah Kallah, a junior NFTY convention. JOOSY and SAFETY sometimes have temple events together.
High school students meet about once a month for student organized and led programs. SAFETY members may participate in NFTY-STR events, called kallahs, and Camp Jenny, and have opportunities to run for board positions and take on leadership roles.
Each year, a new group of teens is elected to the SAFETY Board. This group is committed to the leadership and programming efforts necessary to manage a thriving youth group. Aimed at increasing membership and providing social, cultural and educational activities in a teen inspired and shaped approach, the SAFETY Board works hard throughout the year to strengthen SAFETY and build their leadership team in a fun, yet productive manner. To achieve these goals, board members attend monthly meetings, a SAFETY board retreat held in late summer, and LLTI, a NFTY Leadership conference held in the spring.
