August, 2009
  • 8/30 All Youth Group Kick Off Event 12:00 PM until 3:00 PM in TS Social Hall - Tie-dye, lunch and then parent meeting from 2:40-3:00 PM
October, 2009
  • 10/1 Shabbat Dinner in a Box Prep 3:30 PM until 7:30 pm in TS kitchen - Cooking and assembly of boxes for Shabbat Dinner in a Box Fundraiser
  • 10/1 Youth Led Service Rehearsal TBA in TS sanctuary - For all participants in the Youth Led Service
  • 10/2 Youth Led Service & “Shabbat Dinner in a Box” Fundraiser 6:00 PM -?? TS Sanctuary and Social Hall - Everyone is invited to attend the Youth Led Service and then nosh for their pre-purchased “Shabbat Dinner in a Box”. Boxes may be taken “to go” or eaten in the social hall.
  • 10/3 Kol Echad: “Pizza in the Hut” 7:30- 10:00 PM SMJF - All Jewish teens are invited to get together for a Sukkot pizza making and pool party bash at the Jewish Federation.
January, 2010
  • 1/17 Temple's Got Talent 6:00 PM until10:00 PM TS Social Hall - Second annual temple wide talent show and dinner. Fundraiser for Youth Groups.
  • 1/31 Nosh and Wash TBA at Temple Sinai - Annual bake sale and car wash during Mitzvah Day. Proceeds donated to Camp Jenny.
February, 2010
  • 2/27 Purim Shpiel, dinner and Youth Group Fundraiser TBA TS Social Hall - Fundraiser to be determined.
April, 2010
  • 4/11 All Youth Group All Day Event TBD
May, 2010
  • 5/8 End of the Year BBQ TBD

  • 9/16 Camp Jenny Orientation and Informational Meeting 6:00 PM until 7:30 PM in TS Chapel - Mandatory for everyone wishing to apply for Camp Jenny 2010!
October, 2009
  • 10/30-11/1 NFTY-STR Fall Kallah - Weekend retreat hosted by Temple Beth-El in St. Petersburg. MUST be a SAFETY & NFTY member to be eligible.
December, 2009
  • 12/26-12/30 NFTY-STR Winter Regional Convention - 4 Day retreat in Orlando Hotel (exact location TBD). MUST be a SAFETY & NFTY member to be eligible.
February, 2010
  • 2/21 SAFETY Board Elections 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM TS Social Hall - For all SAFETY members and rising ninth graders. Dinner, games, slideshow, speeches and elections.
March, 2010
  • 3/5-3/7 NFTY-STR Spring Kallah - Weekend retreat hosted by Congregation Schaarai Zedek in Tampa. MUST be a SAFETY & NFTY member to be eligible.
April, 2010
  • 4/25 Kol Echad: Laser Tag and Pool Party 12:00 Pm until 4:00 PM SMJF - For all Jewish high school students.

JOOSY (Junior Organization of Sinai Youth) 2009-2010 Event Calendar

December, 2009
  • 12/12-12/13 JOOSY Chanukah Party and Shul-in 7:00 PM until 10:00 AM TS Social Hall - Sleep over at the temple! Games, food, fun!
  • 12/19 Kol Echad: Chanukah Caravan Party 6:00 PM drop off at Temple Beth Sholom and 10:30 PM pick up at Temple Emanu-El - Progressive Chanukah party! Dinner, games, gift wrapping, songs, dessert and menorah lighting! For all Jewish middle schoolers! Bus transportation provided.
February, 2010
  • 2/5-2/7 Jr. NFTY-STR convention: Hatikvah Hallah - Weekend retreat hosted by Temple Beth Am in Miami, FL. For 7th and 8th graders only.
March, 2010
  • 3/19 JOOSY Family Shabbat Dinner and Program 6:00 Pm until 10:00 PM - Attend Shabbat Services together, then JOOSY families are invited for a special Shabbat Dinner and NFTY style evening program.
